About me

I have always had a passion for baking and can remember baking cakes for my nieces and nephews as far back as the 1970’s! In 2019 I decided to take early retirement from my job with the Local Authority and after 38.5 years of service I logged off my computer for the very last time.

After a short break I then decided to turn my passion into a business and Tickled Fancies was born.  I registered with the Local Authority in October 2019 and passed the required qualification of Level 2 Food Hygiene.   My business was ticking along nicely and then in March 2020 we all know what happened.  Covid 19 and Lockdown!

During lockdown I decided to invest in some tutorials that I had wanted to do for a long time with a view to creating cupcake bouquets.  I started to practice and practice until I was happy with my work and shared my first creation on social media in June 2020.  It was so well received and orders soon began to flood in.

I love to bake fresh, preservative free cupcakes that I would be happy to give to my own family.  I then transform them into bouquets and my work is often described as a ‘work of art’. You can see examples of my work in the gallery.

I have worked hard to turn my passion into a successful small business and a great deal of thought and love goes into every order.
